If you are having a planned Cesarean birth (C-section), your doctor will tell you what time to come to Riverside Regional Medical Center the day of your surgery. Your admission time will depend on the time of your planned surgery. Please come to the Mother/Baby Unit on the second floor, where your nurse will get you settled in your room and prepare you for surgery.

You’ll have your baby in one of the two operating rooms dedicated to our obstetric surgeries. The Riverside Neonatalogists team routinely attends all Cesarean deliveries.

Pre-Surgery Diagnostic Testing
You’ll need to have diagnostic tests performed within three days of your scheduled C-section. Please contact Central Scheduling at (757) 989-8830 (option 2), so we can schedule your testing. Appointments are encouraged but not required. When you come for testing, please register at Admitting in Riverside Regional Medical Center's main lobby.

Please bring these items with you when you come for testing:

-Doctor’s orders/prescriptions (if not already on file at the hospital)
-Your medications or a list of your medications
-Insurance information and photo ID or driver’s license
-Payments or co-payments if necessary (check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cash)
-Advance directives
