Question
Is it safe to do yoga after vitreous detachment?
Answer
There's no evidence that yoga or any other exercise causes or worsens vitreous detachment. So, it's safe to do yoga — including headstands — with vitreous detachment.
In most cases, vitreous detachment doesn't cause serious vision problems and requires no treatment. However, occasionally, it can cause a retinal tear that can lead to a retinal detachment, which is a serious condition. Your ophthalmologist can assess your eye to be certain that you do not have a retinal tear.
