Flu Shot Program for Businesses Riverside Business Health Services can help your company keep employees on the job this flu season with an efficient, cost-effective vaccination program. Our nurses will travel to your company, within a 25-mile radius of Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport, and administer vaccinations to your employees at the workplace at a cost of $25 per flu shot. Businesses outside of the 25 mile radius can still take advantage of this program but will pay government mileage rates for all miles exceeding 25. Career Training
Hospice Volunteer Training Course It takes a special person to become a Hospice volunteer. Find out how rewarding and fulfilling this work can be by attending our upcoming training course. The training will equip volunteers with the knowledge and skills to go into the home and assist families with the care of the terminally ill, as well as provide a system of support as they do this work. The course, totaling 24 hours, is presented over several days.

Nurse Externship Program Riverside Regional Medical Center is offering a 9-week summer externship program for rising senior nursing students. The program consists of an orientation to the medical center, educational programs and valuable clinical experience with a nursing preceptor. Through a structured experience, program participants have an opportunity to improve their skills, gain the experience of working as a member of a team and learn more about the variety of educational and career opportunities available. This is a paid externship and we will interview candidates for acceptance into the program. Students must have completed all of their junior-level coursework in an accredited nursing program. Students enrolled in BSN, Associates and Diploma RN programs are eligible to apply.

Individual Nutrition Counseling Take the first step toward a healthier you! Let our dietitians provide you with up-to-date nutrition information and show you how to eat for optimum weight and good health. Sessions include Wellness Weigh notebook with over 200 pages of information including lowfat recipes, shopping lists, sample menus and tips for dining out. Have your body composition calculated. Massage Therapy Relaxation and well-being are the goals of massage therapy. Massage has been in existence at least as long as medicine itself. It is a natural therapeutic tool and an age-old healing art. Benefits include promoting a feeling of well-being, alleviating symptoms of stress, reducing fatigue and promoting relaxations, relaxing and stretching tight muscles, improving circulation, and promoting the elimination of waste and toxins in the body.

Medical Nutrition Therapy - Gloucester Medical nutrition therapy will teach you more about planning meals, controlling portions, snacks, recipe modifications and reading food labels. Sessions are particularly helpful for people with diabetes, gestational diabetes, pre-renal conditions and cardiac concerns. Initial sessions are usually one hour in length; follow-up sessions are 30 minutes to one hour. A physician referral or prescription is needed prior to setting up your appointment with the registered dietitian.

Medical Nutrition Therapy - Newport News Outpatient nutrition sessions with a Registered Dietitian are available for patients with weight management, cardiac, pre-renal, oncology, gestational diabetes, tube feeding, and/or TPN concerns. Patients will gain knowledge on nutrition and meal planning based on their individual needs. One hour initial sessions and « hour to one-hour follow-up sessions are available. Group sessions are also available. A completed Outpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy Referral Form is needed prior to setting up an appointment.

Mended Hearts Support Group The Mended Hearts Chapter 113 is a volunteer group that is part of the national Mended Hearts organization and is made up of heart patients, their caregivers and healthcare professionals interested in helping heart patients and their families. This dedicated group of individuals provides on-going support for cardiac patients through personal visits and educational programs.
